ASIC Logic Design Engineer - Milpitas, CA

Requirements:
The candidate will perform RTL (Verilog) coding of high-speed DSP functional blocks, including evaluating various dataflow/micro-architecture alternatives to trade off system throughput requirements with area/power cost. Familiarity with Feed-Forward filters, DFE, Reed/Solomon encoders/decoders is a plus. The designer will be completely responsible for implementing a verification strategy, environ and test-benches for the design. This position requires a strong theoretical knowledge in signal processing, modulation techniques, channel coding, and demodulation techniques. The position requires a PhD or MS degree in electrical engineering with emphasis in communication theory. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of experience in the design, analysis, and simulation of high-speed digital communication systems. DSP Simulation Engineer - Milpitas, CA


Description:
This position requires solid understanding of signal processing fundamentals combined with experience in DSP coding in C and Matlab. The candidate will work closely with system engineers in developing the DSP models for end-to-end simulations of optical communication systems, incorporating all channel impairments and non-linearities in the models. o The candidate will also work with ASIC engineers in providing them with test vectors for various DSP blocks that are implemented at the RTL level. Description:

This position involves the following functions: Working with sales account managers to provide pre- and post-sales technical support for mixed signal and VLSI products, demonstrating features, functionality, and performance of products, answering technical questions, assisting with product selection and integration, working closely with the companies customers to provide technical support during design-in phase, serving as a liaison between customer and the companies engineering during this phase, reviewing customer specifications/designs and provide feedback to ensure customer success, providing rapid customer support during debug phase to quickly resolve design related issues, ensuring that customer comments and feedback are considered during new product design, participating in and contributing to the companies design reviews and internal marketing strategy sessions, supporting industry trade show and conference activities, providing technical product training to the companies sales personnel, reps, and distributors.

Description:
This individual will develop C and assembly-based firmware for our Fibre Channel host bus adapters; design, develop, test, and document new versions of firmware to support new features and capabilities; work closely with other members of the firmware team to maximize development efficiency; and support OEM and other customers with investigation, and analysis of problems.

Desired Requirements:
Requires a BSCS or BSEE, or equivalent, and at least three years experience including the development of C and assembly-based firmware in embedded systems. Optical Scientist - Simulation and Modeling

Description:

Candidates must have strong and demonstrated expertise in fiber-optic transmission systems and be knowledgeable in issues and problems associated with implementation of such. Specific expertise in fiber-optic signal impairments (e.g. chromatic dispersion and PMD) is desirable. Adequate familiarity with generally accepted modeling and simulation techniques (split-step Fourier method etc.) on various attendant software platforms (e.g. Matlab) is required. Experience and familiarity with DWDM systems and attendant concepts is desirable. The candidate will investigate, develop and implement new schemes in support of dispersion compensation (chromatic dispersion and PMD).
